The purpose of the Secret Societies Forum is to discuss the conspiratorial nature of organizations and members of those organizations that have in the past or currently are shielding their activities from the public at large. The means that they use to accomplish this and the purpose of their secrecy is the very essence of what is to be discussed within the confines of the Secret Societies Forum. Such discussion is regarding a conspiracy and is exactly what ATS is for.

What doesn’t constitute relevant discussion in the Secret Societies Forum:

Seeking membership in an organization. This can be accomplished in BTS Chit Chat. Threads of this subject will be moved.

Attempts to buy or trade ritual books. ATS is not a classified ad website. Posts/threads of this nature are considered spam and will be removed.

Degree progress. Once again, this is BTS Chit Chat material and threads on this subject will be moved.

Posting Guidelines and Conduct:

The Terms & Conditions Of Use are to be adhered to at all times (just like the rest of the ATS family of discussion boards). Failure to do so may result in account warnings and administrative action up to, and including a permanent account ban. That means no name calling, profanity, threats, or conduct detrimental to the free discussion of topics within the forum, or ATS as a whole. This includes U2U’s and ATS Chat.

If you are a new member at ATS, it might be best to review a few board information links before posting to prevent any early posting issues:

How Not To Be Banned From ATS

For a primer on ATS Posting there’s this:

ATS Handbook

If you are having problems with posting, avatars, image linking, or have any questions requiring a detailed response, please use the ATS Freshman’s Forum.

One of the most common issues that seems to come up is the copy and paste post. Quite simply, you cant just copy text from another website and post it here. There is a provision to support your point of view by taking small portions of text, properly tagging the text, and providing a link to the source. Here are two links on how to properly credit material that isn’t your own:

How To Use The New External Source Tags

Most of all, ATS is about the member’s point of view, and that means the member’s content. The member is obligated to provide meaningful discussion, not someone else’s. This Appears On Every New Thread/Post Reply Page: MEMBERS: Do not simply post news articles in the forums without comment. If you feel inclined to make the board aware of current events, please post the first paragraph, a link to the entire story, AND your opinion, twist or take on the news item.

If you have any questions regarding these guidelines, or any post/thread in the Secret Societies Forum, feel free to U2U a Secret Societies Forum Moderator, or use the Complain feature located in the Member Center and get the full attention of the entire ATS Staff.
