Independence Day (movie): does this depict what could happen in the future????

Of course if this takes place in the future wouldnt we ahve more advanced technolgies and possibly be able to actually attack them away from earth? The movie is good but not accurate about an attack i mean aliens arn't stupid enough to put the "most vurerable" spot on the bottom of there ship as a big hole, if they did then they deserve to die!

Netchicken postulates correctly... This is BUNKO. The aliens would NEVER be so DUMB as to unnecessarily waste resources they had to fling accross the galaxy.

They would "cut a deal" with the higher ups and utilize this planet to attain their own mysterious gains...

A conquering army does NOT vanquish the population of the conquered territory, who the hell else knows how to exploit the resources you are after better than those who have done so for millenia?!

The aliens WILL cut a deal, if there ARE any aliens that is...

They won't cut a deal with anyone, they'll just take what they want, as much as they want, etc. They won't NEED to make a deal with us, and if for some weird reason they DO feel obligated to establish communication, they'd just tell us their demands with a threat of annihilation (Do we cut deals with bees to get honey? With beavers before we cut forests down? Nah we just go in and do it!). But you guys are all talking about 3rd density aliens, who are like humans but more advanced mentally/technologically. What about aliens that are by nature hyperdimentional (4th density beings) and can travel great distances and through time just by using their thoughts.. instantly! Also they would be able to use subtle mind manipulation and effectively achieve total control over 3rd density populations such as ourselves for hundreds of thousands of years without us ever being aware of it at all for the purpose of using our energy as food and occasionally indulge themselves in our flesh as well.. ? Kind of like we herd chickens/cows/other animals and use them in natural parks and so forth... they don't even KNOW what's really going on until they are on the cutting table.. and not even then.. and where they are and why!

Also, about future cataclysms. They wouldn't warn us about them either, same reason we don't warn squirrels before forest fires. Why would they care to warn us, if they want us to survive they will just prevent them if they can, or just leave. No point bringing us up to date on that info though, we're only food! Nothing more!

I am referring to 4th density aliens, who are well above us in all aspects as we are above animal/plant life in capacity for technology/thought/control of surroundings/manipulation of nature (as much as we can thus far).

There have been 3 incidents. One was in Ft. Bragg,NC. They were attacked & had to shoot back. There was an incident UNDERGROUND with the Military, and the third one was in Arizona... over the road between Phoenix and Sedona.
I think any long-time takeover would be more like the series "V" or "The Invaders". In those shows the people fought off the invaders. They could imitate us as well as they did in "V" or "The Invaders".

It did not make sense how they beat those damn aleins, I mean thier technology was so far ahead, but we had the Good old, "United States Of America" and some redsnecks, to kick thier asses.
