Russians catch alien… and eat it?

Horst has turned our attention to this Pravda.ru report in which Russian fishermen capture a bizarre, almost human-like sea creature. They managed to take pictures and film it with their cell phone camera.

UFOlogists and cryptozoologists are eager to examine the captured creature, but, unlike our savvy Russian friends, these investigators are apparently unfamiliar with a little something we like to call the Food Chain. In case you haven’t guessed, the Russians not only ate the creature, they report that it was the tastiest dish they’ve ever eaten. And, that’s saying a lot! These guys eat Borscht!!!

it's a common skate. we catch them all the time out on Long Island. nothing creepy about it

it's not unknown, the story is something akin to the weekly world news.

Well, think about it...how easy is it to go to the local supermarket and pick up beef or meat there?

Anyhow..."Pravda" (Russian for "truth" in perhaps the ultimate irony), is well-known as being the Russian equivalent of the Weekly World News, hehe...

I don't know about the "caper butter sauce". What I had came with a spicy cajun-style tartar sauce.

They ate that thing 2 weeks ago. Are they still living? Might be a good idea to check on those fishermen to see if they have suffered any ill effects from the unique meal. Hope they don't start melting away.

I knew it was pravda before I opened the thread.

They may be out there trying to catch some more of that "exotic" sea food. Obviously the thing tasted better than it looks to them.

In that picture it looks like the underside of a stingray/skate.

I'd say its nothing more. Apparently they've never seen them before.

But I'll take a look at the video in a bit.

EDIT: Okay, wait a minute. That language in the clip was not Russian, and I saw that video before. And if I recall it happened in Malaysia or Thailand or something.

Looks to me like someone recycling a story and reusing it for something else.

Also, I'm 97% sure thats a guitar fish.

No, Nazi officers burned Hitler's body. Thats what I remember.

While I'm not a moderator, iParktour for the video I would write contains nudity, I clicked on the link for the video and surrounding it on the site were a bunch of ####, not that I'm complaining, but others might be offended and the kiddies will likely see it.
