The Great ATS NCAA Bracket Challenge

A little over four weeks until Selection Sunday, and it is my firm belief that WE HAVE TO HAVE an NCAA Bracket bet here on ATS! Don't we?!??

Here’s my thoughts, just to get the ball rolling:

1)
ATS Members buy into The Great ATS NCAA Bracket Challenge for 1,000 points.

2)
Once the brackets are released, participating members list their winners for each round.

3)
Scoring could be one of a couple ways:

ESCALATING
Correct 1st Round Selection: 1 point
Correct 2nd Round Selection: 3 points
Correct Sweet 16 Selection: 5 points
Correct Elite 8 Selection: 10 points
Correct Final 4 Selection: 15 points
Correct Championship Game Selection: 20 points
Correct Champion: 30 points

FLAT
All correct predictions are worth 1 point, whether it’s the Play-In Game or the Championship.

4)
Top Score = 70% of points in the pot.
2nd Place = 20% of points in the pot.
3rd Place = 10% of points in the pot.


First and foremost, if there is already an annual ATS Bracket, then ignore this post and I’ll wait patiently for the announcement.

Second, obviously some moderator assistance will be needed with the points…moderator thoughts?

Third, chime in with thoughts for other formats or improvements.
The above are just suggestions and we have FOUR WEEKS to get it how we want it!

We usually run March Madness brackets on the Yahoo fantasy games that are free. Have done for the past 3 or 4 years... Theres usually about 20 people that give it a try...

We have golf, nascar leagues all set up, the baseball league i'll be setting up by the weekend. Followed by basketball and some others. If anyone wants to join them just u2u me and i'll send the log-in details for the league..

I'll set up one for the NCAA unless you want to do it a different way as soon as its available.

I'm down for whatever Real Deal.

The thing that appeals to me is the idea of wagering some ATS points on the whole thing.

It just adds a little extra incentive.

If we do it on Yahoo, i guess all your getting is ATS braggin rights as the brackets winner for a year lol...

I'll set up the league on Yahoo and if people want to try then its up to them. You cant set up a league for a couple of weeks on there, so we have plenty of time.

You guys know i'm always in... I'm actually doing a bracket for our High School playoffs... not doin too bad... so I'll give this a try.

Is it too late for me to get involved? Also, if not, how?

Selection Sunday is coming up! My school lost its only chance by getting knocked out of the A-10 tournment last night

I knew VCU was going to take down Duke!!! Too bad I picked Marquette with the old "heart." Damn my Wisconsin blood....

I had Duke...they rarely lose in the first round.

And I made the same mistake on Marquette...

Oh and I thought Gonzaga would take Indiana.

And for my grand finale: I picked Stanford to go to the sweet 16.
