Italy finds 6000 year old fossil of couple hugging!

This artical reports on a 5-6 thousand year old fossile of a couple hugging while they perished. So sweet. Soul Mates I presume.

Archaeologists in Italy have discovered a couple buried 5,000 to 6,000 years ago, hugging each other.

Was I single I may have scoffed a bit but for heavens sake, I blushed when I saw this. In a strange way this mortified display of affection just may be the thing I can use for my lady.

Were there any kingdoms in Italy at that time? Or were Mediteranean Europeans still nomads at that time...?

After seeing the picture I hope that the archeologists don't separate them now, after all this time. I feel like we don't have the right, somehow.

The real question is what happened in Italy to have them die in that position. It is a sweet picture though.

Perhaps they had both been sick...or one was dying and the mate could not bear to let the other go.

Either way, quite an amazing find.

What a great find. The oldest peoples that I know of in Italy would be the Etruscans, although I'm not sure of the years that they were there. I believe they were gone at an easly date.

As far as I know the Etruscans tended to have some pretty elaborate tombs. I wouldn't mind knowing more about the situation in which they were found.

If you look at the full view pictures it almost looks as if they are forming a heart shape.

Maybe they froze. I surprised they didn't suggest how they might have died.

I feel that it will be sinful to separate them after thousand of years.

I have the feeling that the young couple had a forbidden relationship and instead of been separated they chose to died together.

Marge that is so great. I would be lying if I didn't speculate the same. This type of bond is something to be envied by all.

Also, if they remove them I hope the discarnates haunt them.
