Tell it to the Native Americans who you stole the land from.

I never stole any land from the Native Americans, and for your knowledge, my really great grand father fought along side those Native Americans who lost their land, in something called the French/Indian War. I suppose you shoot from the lip alot though, so I'll let it slide.

any european living on north american soil is not a native. the europeans totally stole north america.

that was a long time ago.

if we here in north america want to avoid a future where hatred is a fact of life(like palestine and israel, serbia and bosnia, detroit, et al.), we should start by admitting that most of us were born here, and therefore stole nothing. to quote bush, "let's admit it, the past is over".
we should also admit, that the remaining aboriginals have a right to be. i think we should be integrating our cultures. the indian respect for nature and cycles would do a great deal of good to our euro engulf and devour scorched earth policies.
we cannot defeat nature. it is not man against nature, as 'lenningen and the ants' would have you believe. it is man is nature, man with nature. we must survive the challenges of the planet, but seeking to dominate it always seems to end in misery. individual people are the most intelligent creatures on earth(and dolphins and whales), ....people as a whole are moronic.
we should throw less stones at each other. give up your ego, pride and hatred. it's counterproductive.
to survive, we must bond together as a single organism. that's what earth is, afterall. just as we as persons are systems of subsytems, so is earth. we are tiny cells in the planetary body. there is only one us.

While I agree and think this is a true objective statement, it's not how we intuitively think.

No matter our rhetoric we create three divisions: Sheep (them), ever so slightly enlightened sheep (us) and whatever the particular NOT SHEEP du jour may be as per the discussion (Aliens, God, Government, Illuminati).

We typically fear the NOT SHEEP, but ascribe all our 'evidence' in the actions of the SHEEP (slightly less enlightened).

The 'enlightenment' of the 'us' is an illusion and arbitrary designation (i.e. Darn Republicans or Stupid Liberals, or Fundamental Christians, or (again) Stupid Liberals).

Just my observation and opine.

And gypsies. But mostly cowboys. Some spiders.

But a Gypsy Cowboy riding a spider would be bad. Especially if he worked for the government.

Gawd, I'm creeped out now!

classic. i really did laugh out loud.

Cool. Some things are true, some are funny and some are funny because they're true.

Everyone has some archetypal fear they don't even acknowledge until confronted. I used to live with a girl in a cabin on this pretty remote mountain top. She was tough, and nearly impossible to scare, though I kept trying to find a chink in her armour.

I have no idea where it came from, but one night I just said "Jen, there's an albino monkey looking in the window."

Man, that girl lost her freaking mind, throwing stuff, crying, screaming WHY DID YOU SAY THAT? WHY? WHY?

We had to move. (Strangley enough, later we both thought we had repressed alien encounters there.)

Albino Monkeys looking in the window? I don't know why I said it either. But it still creeps me out.

Holy crap, that really is a creepy thought.
Now I have a new paranoia, thanks.

Two things, other humans and my own mind. Nothing is more erratic then the actions of the majority of our population and nothing is a bigger mystery then our own minds. That is why I refuse to do any of that hypnotic regression the fear of discovering something inside of myself that will alter who I am or how I perceive the world.

Well let's see

I've looked a cougar in the eyes

and crossed the paths of many snakes

a scorpian crawled on my barefoot

and a black widow ran across my hand

but the thing that really gives me the creeps

is huge flying bugs that can land on you.

like the locust.

bugs. those little things are horrible. i hate them all. a lady bug landed on me recently (before it got cold) and i freaked out. they are terrible. also being the center of attention. im afraid of failure and rejection horribly so being the center of everyones attention is almost like being covered with bugs.

Sapphire

I hope you understand that you really just said you have an awful lot to fear.

Yes and No MaskedAvatar, You see, I fear that which i 'feel' could be a threat to my safety or loved ones, so maybe i should rephraze, im not afraid of everything unknown, only the threatening unknown, so in effect, I'm really not afraid of everything unknown, see my point? If i could see the dark unknown i would not fear it at all. It's like being on the side of a cliff and not being able to see the bottom, however, if i could see the bottom i would no longer be afraid, err unless i slipped and fell heh. Hope that made sense for ya.

DRUNKEN CLOWN HEADS ON CREEPY GIANT SPIDER BODIES!!!

They're coming you know...

[Just gave myself a flashback] Who was scared of BLUE MEANIES as a kid? Damn, Yellow Submarine was scary.

And this is not what most religious Doctrines teach?

I think time has told a story of how religious morals have clashed, in an endless battle of right and wrong.

The world is too caught up in the wrong path, as a whole we should be worried about the futures of our children who are raised in a world full of rage and inequality.

And Its not Americans that I fear.
The fact is that America is a superpower, and any Man/Woman in its throne perpetuates himself into an utter godlike status.

Americans Cant just give back the land to the Native Americans, whats done has been done.

This is Survival, either way, war between the two would have broken out.

The british society at the time vs Native American Society was much different.

Relgious beliefs would have clashed.

The second thing Im the most afraid of is, My children is rasing my children ( when I have children) with good morals, and ethics. Modern society is so tainted, its hard to realize the wrongs from the rights.

I grew up one eastern philosphy, but was raised in a western culture.

I was taught that money is not everything, But am knee high in bills, trying to make money just to survive.

Im only 21, and my only goal in life is to Secure a high paying job, not so that I can spoil myself, So I will be able to provide my children with A good home, education, food, clothes on thier backs.

Its hard to live by eastern Philosphy in a western world,
If I were living in the remote mountains of Tibet, maybe, not here though.
