If that link you supplied is correct Lug then Nicholas Gordon wrote that poem no earlier than the 1980's not 1973.
Are you Nicholas Gordon loverofmoses? If not you should have read this.

oddly enough, if you read the poem, it seems to sound like a man raping another man. I thought loverofmoses was a woman.

the boy in his mind was no longer there. meaning the rape destroyed his boyhood, his childhood and turned him into a man with an empty blackness inside.
