aaaarrrgghhh....I just made a big mistake!

I tried to add a background .gif to my profile thing and(although I knew it was a bad idea and hesitated for about twenty minutes I did it anyway!) it's all gone wrong.

It's repeating all over the world and I can't stop it. All I wanted was the one solo image but what can be done to fix things?

the gif can be removed if necessary but it'll take me eons to get enough points to fix up a new one so any help that will save my gif would be greatly appreciated.

That is just the way it works. The longer the post is, the longer your background needs to be in order to cover it. So it has to repeat. I use a seamless gif so it is not quite so noticeable. You have an impressive neon display.

Just remove it from your upload space, and then reupload it, and use it as an avatar - NOT background image.

2 cents.

Ah, just noticed it is over 83kb. You'll have to trim it down a bit for use as an avatar.

ok, I see you got it now...

But as I mentioned already, it is a tad to big in filesize.

while your trying to figure a way out,

i'm trying to figure if your avatar is extending a handshake to me ???
or is avatar in the motion of slapping at me ???

are you layering images, to create a more complex final product.

I have resized it here, filesize wise....

Still the same height width...

cheers man.

right I trimmed it down(to a tiny little thing that's hardly worth being there) but I still can't seem to fix my background image. How do I get rid of that?

I can't upload a new background...I tried and it just says that you need more points.

And to St Udio:

He's supposed to be a drunk so sometimes he's a happy friendly drunk and sometimes he's a violent drunk.

2,500 points (cost of putting up the background) reimbursed to surrender_dorothy.

Good luck getting it working

wow, the avatar is in advanced stage cirrosis,

taking a second-glance at him,
kinda reminds me of that Night time news Reporter (TV show) always running into werewolves or other creatures...
Kolzack/Kolchack.... or something like that,
all unkempt, but he had his fedora & a tie on in any bad situation !

To get rid of it, delete the file. If it is still showing, it's because it's still in your cache (you can see it but others can't, unless it's in their cache as well). If you delete your temporary internet files it should no longer be showing.

You know, that looks amazing similar to a display we have over the bar in the Staff Pub.
