Firstly, the majority of testing would be on subjects who agree to have it tested on them.

Nope. This has been discussed before. Yes, it has been tested on volunteers. But the majority will be 'tested' on in crowd control situations. eg: protesters. I doubt that people are going to set up a demonstration, only to say "sure, I don't mind If you hurt me."

You really have to stretch your imagination to claim the two scenarios are even remotely comparable.

It's all there. You don't need an imagination to see it.

Does anyone remember that university Tazer incident a few months back?

Good luck to anyone with a social conscience who decides to go on a march this year.

Interestingly enough this beam is only 6mm in wavelength so can be absorbed by a dustbin lid.

Oh, and Iblis, you ever hear of Chinese water torture? It never killed anyone but was incredibly effective.

As long as your march is peaceful and orderly, you won't have anything to worry about. If you plan on rioting, then that's a whole different matter.
Would you rather be hit with water, tear gas, rubber bullets, etc..?
I'd also rephrase that bit about social conscience, to anti war, or something along those lines. There are people of conscience who don't share your views.
