I cannot imagine that the gov releasing info that we are under alien threat would make the average person want to disarm!
How silly.......Would you turn in what personal guns you have on the heels of the announcement that aliens are real?That would imply abductions and also human mutilations, like the cattle ones are real tooNobodys gonna try to core out my genitals without i get a shot at em first!
Those who remain armed at this revelation will choose to remain armed, and those who have no gun will want a big one!maybe two........
