With all the speculation as to their intent, be it friendly or hostile, I think they would communicate to you a logical reason for going with them if they wanted you to go of your own will. Many have stated that this year, 2007, is the year that we are to be contacted on a major scale....even so much as to state that the January 1 Chicago O'Hare event was the start. I am just wondering who out there among us here on ATS would want to go if they could??????

Thanks for your time and thoughts......Mondo

No question asked, I would, as an ambassador. Now, don't get me wrong, they should pick someone else hehehe

I asked myself this same question in the past but my answer has changed since the first time i thought about it..
The first time, before my divorce, i wouldve definately gone ut now that i am single and raising my son alone there is no way i would go, unless my son could go with me.

when i saw whatever i did upclose, i had this almost exact question pop into my head. It is an interesting thing sitting safe and comfortable at home or work and asking yourself this question, it is quite another to see how you react when looking something "alien" square in the eyes, the ..."freak out" reaction comes to mind, or at least it did for me. I guess if there was communication, and IF you were mentally prepared to see something that shouldnt exist in the first place, then i could rationally see someone better prepared to answer this question. The "fight or flight" response is an amazing and extremely unpredictable thing.

When our fight or flight system is activated, we tend to perceive everything in our environment as a possible threat to our survival. By its very nature, the fight or flight system bypasses our rational mind—where our more well thought out beliefs exist—and moves us into "attack" mode.

We can begin to see how it is almost impossible to cultivate positive attitudes and beliefs when we are stuck in survival mode. Our heart is not open. Our rational mind is disengaged. Our consciousness is focused on fear, not love. Making clear choices and recognizing the consequences of those choices is unfeasible. We are focused on short-term survival, not the long-term consequences of our beliefs and choices

I seem to remember having been approached with the offer several times in my past.

I declined (refused) each time for reasons I don't realy understand.

I don't think I'd accept such an offer at this time either; for reasons I still cannot fathom.

But hey, if it was made with a promise of first-class accomodations and a return ticket, who knows...

And if they want me, they must be desparate! Might be in my best interest to accept.

I think I would have to have my lawyer present !

1) no experimenting on my physical being
( that includes becoming Gueen Bee
for some specialized race of Human/Alien offspring)

2) The trip would have to be at the speed of light
( because I have to cook dinner)

3) No hitchhikers on my return
( I know you all need sun , and those grey bodies could use a
good Suntan Salon, but not on my dime)

Did I say Yes.......... yet???

I would certainly go as long as I could go back and tell about it...

Preferably the world...

But what if it was totally BORING?

Seriously, right up front it would be scary and interesting. But then, say, you basically chill out and snooze for most of the trip, and wake up on Planet Dirt, with a sort of dull red-orange sun.

Everything is dull, dim, and hard to see because the light's wrong for you, and the vegetation is sparse. Even when you have some it's ugly and black. You end up in adobe huts on Dirt World, where it's nothing but brown dirt as far as the eye can see. And all day long it's drudge drudge drudge either tests from the ETs, or doing leg work for eggheads. And the food sucks, and the water's all boiled or something so it's flat. No TV, no books, no fun. The day cycle is off so you always feel like you aren't getting enough sleep, and the big treat is picking whether you're going to drink the orange or red bug juice that night.

And it goes on for five years. Day in, day out.

Maybe it wouldn't be all ET phone home and lots of neat gadgets and green grass under the Triffid nebula at night. It might start off "scary" and go to "boring".

I would, but it would depend on what is all going to happen..

shoot,i'm not gonna volunteer for some crazy stuff that is going to like make some weird aliens live in my body or something and crash out of my chest.

i would only go if it was going to be basically like tour and come back with souveniers to show everyone, the world.

and as a group.

with it being broadcast to the world LIVE.

i even convinced myself that I'd be willing to go on the first Mars expedition, and if I got stranded on Mars, then i'd say to myself ~Oh well !

true, fear can be as bad as a disability. they say that if you fear something you should just do it, usually you will find that the fear was nothing really, but in your mind.

obviously on this subject you cannot do much about it.

It would depend on where; for what purpose; how long; health and safety precautions; etc etc.

I am a stay at home mom and I have responsibilities here. I'm also 'older' and I don't know how a space-ride would effect my body. Probably not too well.

Home is behind
and life before my feet
there are many paths to take
still remain still

creatures of unknown
goblins?
elves?
orks?
their magic presence calls me
to fly me away
in their adventurous world
show me the way

Home is behind
and life before my feet
there are many paths to take
still remain still

A cloud decline from above
it's a ship and the captain calls me out:
''welcome my lad aboard,
i can promise you the unknown
the sea of infinite water
the majesty of speed
and the wars among the gods'',
''take the leap'' an other god repeat

Home is behind
and life before my feet
there are many paths to take
still remain still

mist and shadow
I really do not know
i turn my head back
to shake my relative hand
i see the rheums run
and my heart goes dark
i see my future wife
with admiring eyes

Home is behind
and life before my feet
there are many paths to take
still reamain still

-I really love you my love
but its my dream
let it be true
and join with me
-No, my lord, my place is here
it is you to fulfill your passion true
follow it and remember me
still yours,
on your return, i will be

Home is behind
and life before my feet
there are many paths to take
still reamain still

With the heart in grief
I turn my back
one step
two steps
three steps
and my dream is dead

Home is behind
and life before my feet
there are many paths to take
still reamain still

-Alas, my love
how i can leave far from you
travels are not for me
i chose my path
with you in it

Home is here
where your love is true
i do not need journeys
only a place with you

As my little poem mentions above i would join to travel only if my girlfriend accompany me. Some beautiful places aren't far from home. You have only to turn your head and share a smile with the people you love.

Yes. Of course I'd make sure someone saw. I wouldn't want to go to some unknown planet out in space, perhaps never to return and end up as a missing person.

But absolutely. And you know what? I wouldn't miss Earth. Full of idiots who ruin there own planet and pollute everything. Sure I'd miss a few people, my family and friends, perhaps our food and lifestyles, but besides that, I'd go with them.

I'd love to know everything about them, their planet, their creatures. What I wouldn't give!

*On a similar note, I had some friends over and they were 0on m Nintendo DS and a friends chatting over WiFi. The only two there, on one of their messages sent, though he didn't right it, popped up with "greys will Return" under his message. Also the same night that they witnessed a flying triangle fly at a high speed right over our house. I did not witness the triangle and neither of them knew what a grey was. Interesting night.*
