Better Person, Because you didn't say it?!

Well Here is my Rant,

I work in an enviroment of a couple hundred people. There is always going to be Drama, he said she said BS and all sorts of Back Stabbing, Lying Socialist Talk. Well the thing that really bugs me, Keep in mind I'm generally a very positive can do attitude person that doesn't opinionate myself on what people tell me about other people.

So I'm talking to the office butteryfly, she is talking about a person she thinks is not really sick, will in the process of telling everyone her opinion of this person, she said " But I decided to be the better person and not say it ".

How does it make you a better person for not saying it? You still thought it? So its ok to have negative thoughts, but if you say negative things its makes you a bad or not a good person?

I guess it just really bugs me that this person thinks she can sit there and think bad things about someone, tell these bad things to other co workers, but when it comes down to saying it to the person, it makes her a good person for not saying it directly to them? Come on! or is it just me that feels that way?

If you don't have the guts to say something to a person's face, you shouldn't say it behind their back. How does spreading rumours about someone without giving them an opportunity to respond or defend themselves make you a better person?

I have no respect for people like that.

If she didnt say anything at all, that would have made her a better person, this not only makes her a bad person, it kind of makes her delusional, sure you cant help thinking some things, everyone has bad thoughts at some point, but it takes breath and time to tell people. But think about this, if you know you are saying something that is bad about someone else, and you say that by not telling them directly it makes you a better person, whos to say someone else isnt going to go tell this person your thoughts about them, so the person would know either way.

And actually now that I think about it, it would probably make her a better person to tell this person instead of talking behind their backs, sure not as good as just keeping it to your self, but I think it shows even more direspect for the person she is talking about.

Don't worry, She knows exactly how I feel about this, she had a huge myspace blog about it, I walked right up to her today and told her, hey ya know this isn't right, she agreed. But still, you shouldn't just jump to conclusions, you shouldn't have negative thoughts about someone or something with knowing the whole story, what happen to happy positive thinking? Is the world this messed up, first thing that pops into peoples head is the other person is lying, cheating, stealing or scamming everyone else?

I dont know what happened to positive thinking, but it does need to come back for everyone, but what I dont get, is why does she care so much, just let people live their lives the way they want as long as it doesnt cause others bodily/mental harm, and I am sure whatever she is complaining about isnt doing either of those things.
