Which is the most logical assumption? That thousands of people in the public eye are government mindcontrolled stooges for some unknown purpose?

Just because it makes sense to you, it doesn't make it real.
If this makes so much sense, answer me a few questions:
* How much time and effort would it take to create a mind controlled slave?
* How much time and effort would it take to create a thousand mind controlled slaves?
* How many personnel would it take to staff a facility that does this?
* What purpose would it it serve?

Let's look at it this way....
You have a big, fat, rich businessman who has mass power and control. He realises that a fantastic way of promoting his product/brainwashing the masses/ endorsing a lifestyle is through the usage of celebrities. He finds a nubile, talented, trendy young girl to fulfill his aims.
Do you really believe that this power hungry man will want a human being, someone with their own opinions, ideology and preferences? Someone who has a threshold to how hard they can work?
Or would he rather have more or less a robot, who can work constantly, tour constantly, give the right answers in interviews and promote whatever agenda he desires?
I know what I think, but hey - I'm a cynic

Read anything about Nazi experimentation during World War 2?
The Tavistock Institute?
Social Engineering?
If not, I suggest you do - enlightening to say the least.
This aint about money. It's all to do with control. Look around you. It's working, eh?
