The founding fathers had an advantage on everyone since, they had a much more selective population to work with and to ensure order.

It would be quite interesting to get their take on things now, wouldn't it?

Yes truly and I think they would be saddened on the state of affairs of the country.

We may not agree on every single issue but certainly the early American was a lot more responsible person than the average American is these days.

I agree with you completely, NEO.

yes I am a gun addict,I have a few, along with a concealed weapons permit. However I do have small cousins that come over from time to time,at which I'll hide my weapon in my room,in which their not allowed,I do try to take Extreme Measures to protect what children may be around.I'll also take those same measures to protect my right to carry.I will abide by the law of the land until those laws conflict with God Given Rights as americans.

As you all probably know, retired Gen. Tommy Franks made some very interesting comments in the last issue of Cigar Aficianado regarding the next big terrorist attack and martial law. You'll know when the axe is about to fall. They will repeal gun ownership nationwide in order to stem the armed rebellion that would ensue. Talk about a nasty proposition.

I keep trying to keep my mind from going there.
It's a very dark place indeed.

Dark, indeed. And you know the government will never succeed in taking all the guns away. Many will go down a'la WACO before they turn in their weapons. If you think about it, if revolution broke out here in America, it would most likely be the most brutal, nasty armed rebellion the world has ever seen. A bunch of rich, white guys with unlimited weaponry.

I know the implications all too well. I can't imagine any administration being stupid enough to try to openly confescate our guns (even this one). Can you imagine the desertion rates from the military and police forces if they were sent house to house? I think/ hope that it would be a very short revolution with the administration run out on rails within a week or two.

I believe there is a correlation between our troops being sent out of the country to the ends of the earth and the coming of martial law. You know, get the troops as far from home as possible so they won't mutiny. If they're in some shytehole over sees, they couldn't do anything about it. They might not even hear about it for some time. I've even read that they've been bringing in UN blue helmets under cover, of course, and basing them at these detention facilities that are popping up all over out west. It's pretty creepy.
As to how long a revolution would last, that's a good question. I don't see the rebels winning, though. If you look back at WACO and Ruby Ridge, I'm sure anyone willing to put up a fight would eventually be massacred.
