i have to say i agree with them, i believe that religions are the root of all chaos and the source of all the turmoil in the world, none if it is true, its all stories that humans have created because we cant understand the universe and cant understand how something can exist without being made. emotions come into play with all the time which causes the calamities and destruction and conflicts which would be avoidable if we werent such a violent species, but we are not, our differences will lead to our destruction, its impossible to harmelssly AND publicly believe in any religion because we are such a violent and selfish species. any and all efforts to ban/block/reduce religious influences in public is completely supported by me. sooner or later its going to force us to open our eyes and realize

Hopingtojoin, clearly you are not a religious person and I entirely respect your decision on how you conduct yourself and what you do or do not believe. However, I would also hope you respect other people's decision in how to conduct themselves and what they do or do not believe in. Assuming you do, you see then why no government in a supposed "enlightened" world (as compared to the middle ages) should even have the balls to tell its citizens what religious traditions they may or may not follow.

As someone who does not follow organized religion I have to presume you to be a rather independent person and as such I can't imagine you supporting a government dictating what people can and cannot believe.

Just found this:
"Iran urges French scarf rethink"
Link:
news.bbc.co.uk...

Seems the situation is heating up.
What is also apparent is that Germany and Bavaria, among others, are following suite:

"Second German state to ban scarf"
Link:
news.bbc.co.uk...

"Schroeder calls for ban on headscarves"
Link:
straitstimes.asia1.com.sg...

All this going noticed and yet, many to some claim that Europe is not leaning back towards anti-semetism tendencies of old? Time will tell more on this, or will it?

I think France is trying to send the religious families to other countries...Something similiar to what Hitler to the Jews did as soon as he came to power....

I think Chirac and sarkozy make a great mistake by making a law to ban "Tchador" (headscarf) from schools and work places. School still have internal reglements to ban Hats, baseball caskets, Tchador and also "Kippas" (the jews ritual headcover) from courses and school.

They do exactly what "blocks imams" wait to enflame young muslims in france's suburb.

You're not so far from the truth Gamma...but I think that actually people who act like nazis in France are those young muslims who bombs and enflame synagogues and attack Jewishes in the street because they feel close to the palestinian problem (a problem that they dont understand anyway).

Actually in France there is a raise of antisemitism in the islamic community.

Why your nickname is Gamma ?
