SANTA YNEZ, Calif. (AP) - Ebo Elder mounted a furious rally and knocked out Courtney Burton with 50 seconds remaining in the 12th and final round of
their lightweight fight Friday night.
Elder, with both eyes swollen nearly shut, bleeding heavily from a cut on his right eyebrow and staggering badly, appeared out on his feet earlier in
the 12th round. But the boxer from Atlanta managed to recover and unleash a barrage of punches that floored Burton.

From the opening bell to the finish, the match was a battle.
Elder staggered back to his corner at the end of both the ninth and 11th rounds, and a doctor ordered him to a hospital after the fight for
examination of a possible broken jaw.
Elder, who weighed 134] pounds, is 22-1 with 14 knockouts. Burton, who weighed 135 pounds, fell to 21-3 with 11 KOs.
