You know what, I think all of you here are weapons oriented through computer games. Before you start spewing rubbish, you had better research on how
strong these polymers (which you call cheap plastic) are.
Firearms Polymer 101:
1) They are lighter than metals
2) They are not malleable like metals
3) They can withstand much more pressure than metals
4) they do not warp when heated through firing (which affects the round's trajectory and accuracy) unlike metals
5) They are many times more resistant to harsh weather and conditions unlike metals
6) They do not rust unlike metals
7) They are cheaper but more time consuming to research on then metals but pays off overall.
8) They will save your ass in a hostile situation unlike unreliable, inconvenient traditional metals used in rifles like the M-16, M4 family
