1997 New Mexico Crash Footage

I'm fairly new to the forums here and I've done a search to see if this video has been posted and discussed before but received no results. So forgive me if this is very old news but of all the alleged UFO videos I've seen, this is maybe the most interesting imo. I'd be curious to hear other opinions of it.

Many people are saying that that is just a video of a bomb the army use thats suposd to bounce like that. Is that the real thing? Or is it really a bomb. But then its a pretty pointless bomb :S

Err...Sorry for seeming ignorant here, but how on earth can a missile bounce off the ground like that? This has got to be one tough missile!

Missiles are designed to fly at 3 or 4 times the speed of sound........
If you know anything about structural engineering than you know those missles are super strong.

The cylinder aroung the solid fuel engine is a VERY thick steel tube, Thats all that needed to survive the initial impact. The crappy quality of the video hinders us somewhat as it almost completely wipes out the actual projectile. The bright glow is the flame as it shoots out the back.

Update 070529 - New data may indicate a hoax. I ran across this link for those with an interest at the New Mexico Daily Lobo today.

wow....i live in clovis new mexico one of my friends went on a field trip to white sands ((part of the missile range can be gone into you just have to go through a checkpoint idonno if they still let you)) but he was telling me how they were there for a while and there was a a shaking of the ground then a jeep pulled up and they were asked to leave ((this was wierd because this area of the range isnt used in ordinance test)) but this was propably in spring 1997 not sure what month donno if that has anything to do with this but....wa know ((on a side note if they do still allow the public into white sands you should think about going its beautiful it has beautiful white beach like sand and rolling dunes and its almost garunteed youll get to see a stealth from kirtland:up)

I've always believed this shows a UFO crash that is extremly similar to what actually happened in roswell, only this was a much smaller scale.

I remember hearing a report from a whitness who said he and his father had seen what they thought was a meteor landing in the desert. When they went out the next day they only found a large sheet of solid sand basically melted into glass.

I've developed the beleif that what happened in roswell was that a large craft came down, bounced on this spot creating so much heat that it melted the sand. Following the bounce the occupants attempted to get into a smaller escape craft. This craft was also significantly damaged durring the bounce and ended up crashing into a mountain a few miles down. The origional larger craft then hit the ground and shattered like this video shows, which is what created the large debreis field...

Granted I've zero evidence to support this. But this is what I always thougt had happened and this video in a sence confirmed it for me when I did see it the first time...

It wouldn't be the first "bouncing bomb" (the WWII Barnes Wallis version comes to mind)...so I wouldn't be surprised to see a bouncing bomb test near White Sands....

after watching it closely in the last secoond it changes direction well its heading nearly straight down and then hits the ground at a small angle its hard to notice but when you see it its there ordinance ussually doesnt light up like that but it could also be a military flare....it seems too the video was taken from a highway seeing as how there are electric lines going in a straight path there are no roads that close to the actual testing area that are publicaly open

I don't believe it's a missile, I believe someone shared this at probably a great risk that's why no one can say where it came from or really what it is. I think we are seeing what the Roswell/ Corona crash might have looked like. Really interesting.
