I agree: I doubt it's Schizophrenia.

Bi-polar sounds more likely - particularly the manic phase.

Some bi-polars contstanly stay in the manic phase, so it can be difficult to diagnose.

BUT DO NOT TAKE WELBUTRIN, OR PAXIL OR ANY OTHER ANTI-DEPRESSANT.

I'm not kidding about avoiding anti depressants...I was like you, and they made me CRAZYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!

anti-depressants aren't all bad, just overprescribed.

to the original poster, I think you should see a doctor for a full medical checkup asap. there's the off chance you could be suffering from a seizure disorder or the like, and it makes diagnosis a tad easier if medical causes are ruled out before you go the psychatriac route.
since you're 14, are your parents aware of this? do they believe you? if they don't, it'll probably be kind of hard to get them to take you to a doctor or psychatrist. if they won't, talk to a guidance counselor or the like, they're trained to help in that sort of situation.
finally, good luck
if you get these little voices under control now, you'll save yourself a lot of pain later on. (trust me, personal experience)

Oh I know Anti-D's do alot of good, but I was just reacting to his description. He's not depressed (sounding) and in my experience most Docs want to experiment, starting with an anti-d low dose, then go up, then when you're even nuttier (or fat) try something that might work.

Skip the BS.

Hi MC! I agree with you that a-d's are not all bad and that the "all bad" lies in over-prescribing, BUT I do hope that if the original poster does proceed with getting help and it results in being prescribed one of these that we can at least make him FULLY aware of what to watch for, so that he can inform his family to watch for those things.

I know I have alluded to this before on the board, but in 1998 I was in a coma for three days because of adverse effects of one of these drugs. Also, in case no one has caught the various investigative news reports, in research that was INTENTIONALLY hidden by the pharmaceutical companies, up to **60%** of participants in a research on Paxil either started exhibiting homicidal, or suicidal tendencies. It must be kept in mind that approximately 2-5% (and these number change every year - in 1998 it 2-3%, now some research is saying over 5%) of the general populace who NEEDS these drugs, will have a homicidal/suicidal reaction - THEN you taken into account that about 99% of the general populace DOESN'T need them - you have a potential for a big problem is mis-prescribed.

One investigation showed that a large percent of the students who have committed some form of violence with weapons at school was on one of these drugs.

Dangerous business.

Actually, I think it might be a form of epilepsy. There are lots of forms of epileptic seizures, so read up on that. ALso, may I ask if one side of your body feel any different than the other during these episodes?

Hmm..interesting...but I wouldn't take prescriptions from ATS..especially RANT

Anyways, I was thinking ADD when I read this too Zero..but I doubt that is the case. Schizophrenic...does that have to have 'anger' with it? Just wondering..

I have a quick question though...(a personal question):

Sometimes I get seriously dizzy and a very loud ringing occurs in my head...it only lasts for 2 - 3 minutes at most. While I am dizzy, I can still stand up, but my head is spinning, and I feel disoriented. Is this due to a loss of blood pressure, or sugar level? Anyone who knows , I would greatly appreciate help. I have been treated, it isn't so bad, just wondering if it is..

I get head rushes a lot because my bloodpressure is low. When it happens, raise your hands over your head and it will go away faster.

It's probably hypoglycemia. It is a result of your blood sugar dropping too low. If you sip on a Coke, preferably flat, it will help to raise your sugar level back up until you can eat something.

I just got a really sick feeling reading this. I was FINE when I started Paxil, then spiraled into near madness and self destructive behavior over the next three years. FAWK. FAWK. FAWK.

Do you have links? A LAWYER??????????????

Two things came to mind when I read this.
One is that you could have multiple personality disorder.
The other is a little wierder. In a radical spiritual sense, you could be hosting another spirit. That means that there are two souls inhabiting your one body.
Just a thought.

Please, don't go to doctors. Go to the spiritual teacher of any path, important is that you can trust him-her, or to a psychologist, some that follows jungian school, or who knowa that some of the new children have abilities that most of us, older ones don't.

Your phenomena may be anything from your guardians, different entities to the simplest explanation of all: All of us have different personalities in us, but most of us don't realise that, and most of the time they are in sort of arguing. We behave depending on which personality wins at that moment. For the most people it takes years of practice to becoma aware of those different personalitis.
The only situation you should start worring in is if some of those "different people" start forcing you to do something.

Thank God for the kids like you.

i've taken paxil for better than a year now. i took zoloft before that. i have extreme anxiouty (sp) problems. with zoloft, toward the end of the first year i felt weird, zombie like, i would stare off for long periods of time. so i then switched to paxil, i get the same sexually effects as zoloft (can go a loooong time w/o an orgasim). but besides that i dont' have any complaints. no suicide tendencies, no urge to kill anyone (well, no more than i had before
). but then again i'm only taking 12.5 mg a day.

kind of off topic but though i would through it in anyway. one night i was having a panic attack when i was off my medicine for a couple months and it was so bad i wanted to go to the hospital. instead i took 20mg of Serequill (anti-psycotic) from someone i knew. 10 mins later i felt paralyzed, woke up 11 hours later tired. that # is lethal.

Strigoi, 12.5 is no big deal, you're right...and 'works' for about a year.

And I LOVED Paxil at first too...it was like constantly being drunk. No worries, that's for sure.

But when it stops working and they move you up and up and up to 40mg, you can forget orgasms (period). Or any sense of clarity, IMO.

Most Doctors (with sense) now, try to ween you off Paxil once no longer needed...or switch you. They talk about a "brick wall" you hit (it builds up in your system you know) where you either have worse results or at least gain tons of weight (around 3 years).

I had slight anxiety/depression too. Now I'm practically AGORAPHOBIC.
