Smithy came on as a sub and blocked a Riise free-kick, he landed a bit awkward and looked like he hurt his leg bad. You can always tell as players was walking up to him while he was on the floor and turning away pulling faces...

It turns put he dislocated his ankle which in turn made him break his leg. Ouch!!

Fergie said it was one of the worse he has seen, but Smithys agent is saying he will be ok and will play again. So we'll just have to wait and see in a couple of months time how he is doing.

but what a nice tactic that is, from what i have seen of Risse's free kicks he very seldom puts the ball over the wall, he just runs up and hits it as hard as he can..

i guess it was only a matter of time until something like that happened
