Spanish striker Raul has intimated he may be ready to leave Real Madrid and Liverpool is reported to be his likely destination. Raul's place in the Real team has come under threat from former Liverpool striker Michael Owen. The 27-year-old believes he has yet to peak, but has called on the Bernabeu club he joined in 1995 to tell him if he still has a future there.

Whoah...

I can't see that happening but you never know. Would Raul make it in the Prem though? he always seems a bit of a lazy player to me.

whats happened to him the last few years? is it down to them not playing him with Morienties?

"If at some time I have to sacrifice myself in order for the team to progress then I will do.

what he said though, you can seee what he feels for the club by that and credit to him for that.

Yer, he has looked lazy sometimes and i think that is sometimes more comman in spain than england. you see players losing intrest more often.

like you say Dilly, he is Real;s Golden boy like Totti is at Roma and i reckon he will stay.

he can score goals, he got skill and he a superb talent. hes done it for 11 years for them and cos of 1 bad season i dont think they would want rid of him.

hahaha! Now we really have been linked with everyone!

It would be a great signing but I can't see it happen. We'd have to pay rediculous money unless they really wanted rid of him and he insisted on coming to Liverpool.

They did shark us on Michael Owen though so maybe they owe us, considering he's the man who'll be taking his spot. It's better than Peter F@#king Crouch anyway!

Real Madrid director of football Arrigo Saachi has told skysports.com that Liverpool have not made a move for Raul.

Speculation at the weekend had suggested Liverpool have approached Real with regards to their talismanic captain.

Despite capturing the UEFA Champions League in his debut campaign in English football, Rafa Benitez is already looking at reinforcing his ranks.

Yeah and look how crap Carew is...

More stuff in the news about Raul and how he would like to go to Liverpool, i dunno how true much of it is but it would be some sort of coup if they did sign him.

Southampton have confirmed they have turned down a bid - believed to be from Liverpool - for striker Peter Crouch.

Saints chairman Lowe refused to say whether it was the Reds who tabled the offer but he did reiterate the club's desire to keep hold of 6ft 7in Crouch.

"There has been a lot of interest in Peter Crouch and we have had an offer which we have turned down," said Lowe.
