Liverpool: Mellor to fight for Kop dream

Neil Mellor is hoping his match-winning contribution against Arsenal will help persuade boss Rafa Benitez he has a major future at Liverpool.

The 22-year-old has played only three full first-team games for The Reds, but elevated himself to hero status with fans after his last-gasp heroics on Sunday.

His chance has come about following a spate of injuries to Liverpool's frontmen, but he is determined to prove he can produce the goods on a regular basis if given the chance by Benitez.
