AUSTRALIA will join forces with the United States as a frontline member of a new Star Wars missile defence program.

The $80 billion defence program means that Australian warships, over-the-horizon radars, Pine Gap and other intelligence systems will be plugged into the global defence shield.
The system aims to destroy nuclear and long-range ballistic missile attacks within minutes of warheads being launched.

Defence Minister Robert Hill said yesterday Australia had agreed to join the program along with other un-named nations.

This is a Global defence system.

With Britain and France joining together to make Carriers, With Australia and the US joining to make a star wars defence, With the EU tearing down borders and hiring people to defend their borders, etc, With the WTO bringing down Economic borders around the world...The world itself will soon be an Empire. Everyone as one. What will happen next?

Well I thinks thats good if Australia is willing to help the U.S. split part of the bill. I think the U.S. needs a missle defense system...........so thats what Pine gap has been up to huh? here another article from CNN about the whole ordeal:

SYDNEY, Australia (CNN) -- The Australian government has decided to take part in the controversial U.S. missile shield system, a move likely to earn the displeasure of key trading partner China.

Something I've never quite understood:

What the hell is China's beef with this missle defense system? Sounds awfully suspicious that they would be so upset that the US and it's allies are protecting themselves. As a matter of fact, the only people I think who would be upset are those who plan to LAUNCH NUCLEAR MISSLES.

But anyway, it's good to see Australia helping out. Hopefully all allies will join in.
