Alan Curbishley insists he still has ambitions of managing a bigger club than Charlton.

The Addicks manager is consistently the first name in the frame for any vacant Premiership job, but has so far remained at The Valley.

It is only this season that home fans have started to become disgruntled, as Curbishley becomes the victim of his own success with expectations very high at the club.

Saturday's win at Tottenham came as welcome relief for Curbishley - who insists he still has designs on a top Premiership job in the future.

Charlton boss Alan Curbishley concedes he is unsure he will stay at the club beyond his current contract.

The Addicks chief, who expressed his frustration at his lack of opportunity to gain experience with England's international set-up earlier in the week, has two and half years left on his current deal.

Curbishley has endured criticism from some Charlton fans this term especially after successive home defeats to Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough in late October.

Although the South Londoners have since gone some way to readdressing their form, Curbishley accepted that some people might want to see a fresh face at the club within the next couple of years after his nine years at the helm.
