Blackburn Rovers have denied that they are set pounce for Burnley midfielder Richard Chaplow.
The Clarets starlet was linked with a 2 million move to Ewood Park, but Rovers have moved quickly to deny that deal was on the cards.
"That's absolutely not the case," chief executive John Williams told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
"There's never been any discussion with Burnley about a transfer or anything like that.
"In terms of new players, we'll have to see what transpires before the window closes but we've got a strong squad and fingers crossed there were no
more injuries on Saturday."
Chaplow only signed a new long-term contract at Turf Moor last month after interest from Leeds and Clarets manager Steve Cotterill will be determined
to keep hold of his young midfielder.
