"possesses great qualities, scores goals and is very talented".

That means they've got no chance of him going to blackburn.

Blackburn Rovers have increased their offer for Norwegian talent Morten Gamst Pedersen just 24 hours after having their initial bid rejected. The Ewood Park outfit moved in on the Norway international on Thursday evening, however their first approached was swiftly rebuffed.

According to reports in Norway, Rovers have tabled a new offer of 1.5 million for the Tromso winger, although 600,000 of the fee is appearance related.

Blackburn manager Graeme Souness is a big admirer of the Scandinavian talent, having watched him on a number of occasions.

Blackburn have completed the signing of striker Paul Dickov from Leicester.
Dickov has signed a two-year contract with the Ewood Park club who have signed the 31-year-old for 150,000.

Dickov scored 11 goals for Leicester but could not stop them being relegated from the Premiership and was being chased by several clubs.

But Rovers' bid triggered a release clause in Dickov's contract allowing him to talk to other clubs if the Foxes were relegated.

Graham should invest in young talent rather than these over the hill guys such as Cole, Yorke e.t.c. they're just not doing the job, and I seriously doubt this guy will.

They seem to have got nowhere, he assembled a reasonable side awhile back. But they havn't done a thing and players have gone. It looks like they are going to have to rebuild a bit or they will be facing a relegation dogfight again.

Spanish World Cup star Javier De Pedro has joined Blackburn after signing a two-year contract.

De Pedro, capped 20 times by Spain, turned down offers from several clubs in his homeland to opt for a move to Rovers on a two-year contract.

Blackburn had expressed an interest in the winger during the January transfer window but it has taken until now to land the Real Sociedad player.

Ewood Park officials had been on the trail of De Pedro last season but were thwarted in their efforts to sign him.

Blackburn midfielder Barry Ferguson has been given the green light to start pre-season training after a six-month injury nightmare.

Ferguson missed most of last season after breaking a kneecap in December.

The 7.5m capture from Rangers will return to training 10 days ahead of his team-mates and is aiming to feature in Rovers' pre-season trip to Germany.

Dominic Matteo has followed a popular trend adopted by other departed Leeds players and agreed to waive all monies owed to him by the club.

The former Leeds skipper made an instant return to the Premier League on Wednesday by joining Blackburn on a free transfer, signing a three-year contract.

Matteo becomes Rovers' manager Graeme Souness' third signing this summer, joining Paul Dickov and Javier de Pedro at Ewood Park.

Blackburn manager Graeme Souness has explained his reasons as to why the son of Diego Maradona would be coming to the club on trial.

The 17-year-old, also called Diego, is currently with Napoli.

Souness told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: "The idea is he'll come here and train with us.

"An agent I know in Italy phoned me up and asked if we'd be interested in having a look at him, so he is coming across and we'll see what he's like.

"When you have got a name like that it's a massive burden to carry around with you but I am told he is a good player so we'll have to wait and see."

Former England striker Andy Cole could be on his way out of Blackburn by the weekend.

Cole was named in the club's squad for a pre-season training camp in Germany - they have their first match on Friday.

But instead he looks bound for Blackburn's Barclays Premiership rivals Fulham. It is understood that Cole has now been given permission to talk to the west London side and dialogue is expected between the relevant parties in the next 24 hours.

Maradona Jr hahaha!

I can't see thunder striking the same place twice somehow, the lad deserves a chance though I suppose. Let's just hope he stays away from the coke and the food.

Blackburn are confident of signing Craig Moore after agreeing a 500,000 fee with Rangers.

The Ibrox club have given Rovers permission to speak to the 28-year-old over a possible move to link up with former Gers captains Barry Ferguson and Lorenzo Amoruso.

Moore was also captain of the Scottish side but was stripped of the captaincy by boss Alex McLeish and placed on the transfer list following a row over his involvement at this year's Olympics.

Craig Moore's proposed move to Blackburn collapsed on Tuesday after the defender failed to agree terms with the club.

The Australian international, who will play for his country at the Olympic Games this summer, looked to be on his way to join former team-mates Lorenzo Amoruso and Barry Ferguson.

But the former Ibrox skipper's move dramatically fell through when the two parties were unable to agree on personal terms.

Blackburn's worst fears have been confirmed with Steven Reid facing up to two months on the sidelines because of injury.

Reid hurt his foot in the pre-season victory against Preston last weekend.

Scans have shown that Reid has broken a bone in his foot which will sideline him for a lengthy period.
