Aston Villa keeper Stefan Postma is to hand in a transfer request because of his frustration at a lack of first-team football.
The 28-year-old made clear his intentions to Villa manager David O'Leary in a meeting on Monday and was reported to follow that up with a written
request to leave the West Midlands club.
The Dutch player has made only one first-team appearance this season when he impressed in the 3-1 defeat at Arsenal but was instantly back on the
substitutes bench after Thomas Sorensen recovered from a back problem.
Postma has been a popular figure at Villa Park since his arrival in a 1million move from De Graafschap in the summer of 2002.
But he has decided to look for a new club after being axed for the clash with Fulham after his heroics at Highbury.
