Edu has revealed that Arsenal have stood by him despite the fact he is not signing a new contract at Highbury.

The Brazilian feared a backlash from the club and their fans after revealing he would not be staying.

However, Edu is happy with the conditions at the club.

Well there wasn't a massive interest in him and he could easily do a u-turn and stay.

hehe...it looks like its possible he could stay

he made no secret of his desire to leave really, and try for another club in spain. and the fans seem to be ok with him,

if a bid comes in for him, will he just jump ship

He's going, hopefully to Man U but Spain seems more likely.
Really is a good player, he has come on so well in the last few years.

I think there will be some interesting moves this summer and the Edu transfer could well be one of them. i think he will end up at a club that people wouldn't expect him to go to..

I can't see him going to Valencia now, think you could be right about his move. Still hoping for Man Utd!

he sounds like one of the experience players wenger says he needs, if he can settle back in and signs a contract in the summer, that will be him staying i reckon

they need a contract to keep him am sure

Arsenal midfielder Edu has revealed he does not intend to stay at Highbury this summer and plans to continue his career in Europe.

The Brazilian's future has been the subject of speculation for many months now following his decision not to sign a new contract with The Gunners.

He will become a free agent when his present deal expires in the coming weeks and a host of European clubs are chasing his signature.

You think if Man United come in for him he would go there? Fergie has said he would definatly be interested in him lately...

yer, hes good enough for arsenal's first 11 most of the time, depending how they want to play so i dont see a reason why he couldnt get a game at utd.

hes been in england for a few years now, which i think could make him think i will try something new.

i think spain is where he really wants to go, like a club like barcelona.

if Man Utd say yes, we want to sign you, can you see him saying yes to it?

I dunno to be honest, thats why i asked you that question first but you sort of ducked it.

lol..

for me, i dont think he will sign for Man Utd. he will be competing for the same things again as Arsenal would do.

i think in Spain, it would defintly appeal to him.

I think he could be a great replacement for Scholes, real classy passer of the ball. Can't see him going there, I think he is set on Spain but don't think Barca will come in for him and I wouldn't want to go to Valencia at the moment. Man Utd Edu, go for it!

noticed you said a replacment for scholes maybe... is there talk of scholes getting dumped, like a scapegoat for Utd's poor season?

i aint sure valencia would move for him, they seem to be under too much trouble and i think Ranieri is still trying to get money off them, i think there attention will be elsewhere.

i wonder about the Barcelona one, there was talk they wanted pires, could that hav been the cover story?

what about Real Madrid? they are starting to rebuild under there new manager whos got them doing much better

Nothing like that but Scholes is31 and won't be around forever, Fletcher is coming along but isn't ready to dominate games like Utd need so Edu would fit in nicely (am ingnoring Kleberson because he is rubbish).

He wouldn't start for Real or Barca which is what he is looking for so I can't see it happening.

yer, good points Teflon.

i think man utd do have issues in midfield, and i think scholes and edu could play in the same team if required too.

could he sign for his rivals? and i cant see barcelona going for him anymore as they signed van bommel.

at real, it remains to be seen who they are going to sign this summer

i think in england, any other team that chelsea its a step down hes taking, i think newcastle might be a good move but does he want to go a wee step down

He wants a club with drive and ambition so clearly Newcastle is out.

Edu needs to stop acting like a bitch and stick to his football instead of money. Man utd could do with him in midfield lets face it keane and scholes are gettin no younger but they do have the nevilles praise the lord
