Newcastle United: Souness wants dyer to stay

Graeme Souness has urged the Newcastle United board to open contract negotiations with Kieron Dyer.

The midfielder only has 12 months remaining on his present deal and Souness is already fearful of the prospect of Dyer leaving St James' Park on a free transfer.

The Magpies boss insists he wants the England international to stay with the club, despite the player being involved in a brawl with team-mate Lee Bowyer in April.

YES YES YES!!!!!

If Souness keeps just two players this summer it must be Dyer & Given!

The performances Dyer put in at the end of the season were unbelievable.....
