Sam Allardyce has admitted he could be interested in a move for Patrick Kluivert after the Dutch striker was released by Newcastle on Wednesday.
The former Barcelona man has failed to make an impression on The Premier League since moving to St James' Park on a free in the summer, and was deemed surplus to requirements at the club by Graeme Souness.
Allardyce has demonstrated a winning touch in bringing the best out of players who have developed their careers in La Liga, with the likes of Ivan Campo and Fernando Hierro, and Kluivert could be the latest in a line of players to rejuvenate their career under the gaze of the studious tactician.
