Portsmouth striker Lomana LuaLua insists he is happy to play on the wing despite believing it is not his best position.

The DR Congo international was reported to have been unhappy with Harry Redknapp's decision to shift him on to the flank in the second half of Monday's 1-0 win against Tottenham.

However, he is likely to play out wide again at Middlesbrough on Sunday and claimed to have no problem with his new role.

"In the end I was just happy to be playing," said LuaLua.

"I didn't expect to start but when the manager tells you to play out wide then that is where you play."

The former Newcastle star faces stiff competition from Yakubu Ayegbeni, Diomansy Kamara and Ricardo Fuller for a place in Pompey's strikeforce and Redknapp warned he may have to get used to playing out of position.
