Middlesbrough are ready to challenge Rangers for the signature of Hibernian captain Ian Murray. The 23-year-old has impressed greatly this term for
Hibs - who have been transformed by a Boro legend in the shape of Tony Mowbray.
The Scottish international is out of contract in the summer and Boro dispatched chief scout Don Mackay to watch Hibs last week- with Murray believed
to be the target. Rangers were reported to have agreed a pre-contract with Murray - but Mowbray insists this is not the case and that there is
interest from England.
