European: Season over for Sociedad star

Real Sociedad midfielder Igor Jauregi has been ruled out for the rest of the season through injury. The 30-year-old has a degenerative hamstring complaint that requires surgery. Jauregi has been troubled by the problem for the past three months, and a programme of physiotherapy has failed to shake off the injury. The player has now been advised that an operation could resolve the problem once and for all, but is likely to sideline him for the remainder of the campaign.
