Malaga are close to agreeing a swap deal that would see them land Murcia midfielder Michel.
The Primera strugglers are ready to let Jose Juan Luque move in the opposite direction although a deal is still to be finalised.
Michel, full name Miguel Angel Sanchez Munoz, moved to Murcia last summer from Rayo Vallecano in a €2.7 million deal as the club prepared for life in the top-flight.
The skilful 29-year-old could not help keep Murcia in La Primera but now looks close to a return to the top league.
He admitted the switch to Malaga did attract him, but insisted he would wait until the transfer had been finalised before commenting further.
