Real Betis president Manuel Ruiz de Lopera has hinted that he may be prepared to sell winger Joaquin Sanchez to Chelsea.

The Spain international is the jewel in the Betis crown and Lopera has already turned down big money bids for the player from both Real Madrid and a number of English Premiership clubs.

Madrid president Florentino Perez is known to be a fan of the 23-year-old, while Lopera has revealed Chelsea have made some tempting offers.

Lopera has now admitted that Joaquin may well be on his way - but does not expect him to leave for the Bernabeu.

Figo has yet to sign a new deal, although it looks like they are going to make him a good offer, he may leave. Which would open the door to sign Joaquin.

At the moment though it looks like Chelsea would be favourites to sign him...

I'm going to be bold and say he won't sign for Chelsea.
Real are my tip.

after his peformance for spain the other night i think more teams will join the hunt. i thought cole was a good defender with pace. maybe better at attacking than defending but joaquin was way to fast and silky for him

he has stated he would like to play for a team in italy

Real Betis star Joaquin has expressed his interest in moving to Italy, admitting that his desire to join Real Madrid is fading.

Joaquin, who has a huge contract at the Seville club and a release clause of €60 million, has been eyed by Chelsea and Real Madrid for some time, but told the Italian press that he would like to play in Serie A

the player admits to knowning about chelsea's interest

[qoute]"I have heard the offer is very big and I know Chelsea are a very big club, but, for me, money has never been an issue," said Joaquin to The Mirror.

"Football is the only issue for me. My friend Reyes tells me good things about English football when we play for Spain. It makes me think about things.

"I have always loved Manchester United but personally the main club of the last two seasons has been Chelsea. All the players these days want to play for Chelsea."
