after the fans throwing stuff at the ref and mexes scandle thing, voller resigns

Rudi Voller has quit Roma after they reluctantly accepted his resignation.

The German offered his resignation in the wake of his side's humiliating 3-1 defeat to Bologna.

Roma president Franco Sensi had hoped that Voller would reconsider his decision after a meeting on Sunday, but the former Germany coach has decided to leave The Giallorossi.

former chievo manager gets linked to the job

Former Chievo coach Luigi Delneri has denied that Roma have been in contact with regards to their vacant managerial position.

Delneri is well regarded in Serie A for his work at the previously unfancied Chievo and has seemingly been earmarked for a role at the capital outfit.

he has now admited there has been contact

Luigi Delneri has confessed that he has been approached by Roma to take over from recently departed coach Rudi Voller.

Voller resigned from his post after a defeat at the weekend, admitting he was not the man to bring success to the club.

I'm not surprised Voller left as Roma havn't been having a fantastic time of it. Other European clubs seem to be a lot less tolerant of the managers than in the UK. They get pushed out or given the sack in a blink. I would say British clubs hang on to the managers alot longer even if they are not doing that great...

yip, i agree with you, the english league seems more tolerant with managers, although i guess there is the bobby robson and paul sturrock to say otherwise, but you got camacho in spain, voller for roma

i remember when capello took over them, wins the league first season, i think something like 2nd in the next,

del nero, he did wonders with chievo, i think its well worth a go trying him out
