Coca-Cola Divisions: Boston fail in Anderton bid

League Two outfit Boston United have failed in an outlandish attempt to bring former England international Darren Anderton to York Street.

Anderton has failed to make much of an impression since swapping White Hart Lane for Birmingham in August and Boston were keen to offer him a player-coach role.

Another high profile veteran, Paul Gascoigne, recently left a similar role at Boston and club chairman Jon Sotnick is keen to bring in another high-profile name as his replacement.
