Birmingham have received a boost after it was revealed that Muzzy Izzet's knee injury was not as bad as first feared.
Izzet, 29, was stretchered off during Sunday's draw with Newcastle, prompting fears he had suffered ligament damage.
But head coach Eric Black said scans had revealed no major problems and should not keep him out for long.
"We'll have to see over the next 10 days once the swelling goes down to see exactly what damage has been done," he told the club's official website.
Black added: "There could be so many reasons for the swelling.
"Although I'm not a physiotherapist, maybe he's done something minor to his meniscus or just jarred it slightly.
