At 38 years old, Johnny Tapia is lucky to be alive, let alone still boxing.
Earlier this month the eccentric featherweight extended his thrilling career with a 10-round points victory over Frankie Archuleta in Tapia's hometown
of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Tapia's story is well-documented - somewhere, probably in America, a scriptwriter must be patiently waiting for him to finally retire from boxing so
that they can get the ball rolling on a film telling the astonishing story of Johnny Tapia.
Think 'Rocky', but less cheesy and more entertaining. With murder, drug addiction and more tattoos thrown in.
Rest of story...
