Joe Calzaghe has signed a new deal with Sports Network.
The WBO super-middleweight champion has re-signed for Frank Warren after stretching his unbeaten record to 38 fights with a points win over Kabary Salem.
Calzaghe said straight after the fight that he wanted to step up to light-heavyweight and Warren is confident he can celebrate the new deal by delivering the Welshman the big-name fight that has so far evaded him.
Sports Network are currently in negotiations Dan Goossen, promoter of IBF light-heavy champ Glen Johnson, the man that looks to have ended the career of Roy Jones Jr.
There is also the option of staying at super-middleweight and unifying the division, with IBF champion Jeff Lacy emerging as another possible opponent.
