WBO featherweight champion Scott Harrison will dedicate the sixth defence of his title to the Black Watch Regiment.
The Scottish regiment are currently in Iraq and have been moved to the north of the country to support the Americans.
Harrison, who takes on Swedish-based Ethiopian Samuel Kebede at Braehead Arena on Friday, is hoping to cheer the soldiers up with a record breaking win which will see him beat Jim Watt's record of five title defences.
He said: "I know a few guys who are going over there for the first time and they are real fighters - I am just a boxer.
"But I am a fighting man and I have a huge respect for all of them."
