Undefeated Ukrainian bantamweight contender Wladimir Sidorenko scored a career best win over Leo Gamez with a unanimous decision over 12 rounds in a WBA bantamweight eliminator on Tuesday in Rostock, Germany.
Universum promoted Sidorenko gave the aged, 41-year-old Gamez a boxing lesson with his speed, guile and, most importantly, youth.
After 12 rounds the official judges scored the contest 118-110, 119-110 and 119-110, all in favor of Sidorenko, now 16-0 (6). The 28-year-old Ukrainian now has the right to challenge reigning WBA bantamweight champion Julio Zarate from Mexico.
