SAYS AMIR KHAN FIRST INTERVIEW WITH BRITAIN'S OLYMPIC BOXING HERO
Interview By Frank Wiechula
LETTERS simply addressed to "Amir Khan, Bolton" come, by the sackful from all over the world.
So do strangers, who arrive in the town and ask ''Where does the boxer live?'', then knock at the family door -just to wish British boxing's Olympic silver medalist and brightest young talent all the best.
''Yes, fame can be strange,'' says Amir, ''but I WILL be getting back to normal ... so I can concentrate on conquering the world.''
One way or the other life will never be the same again for the 17-year-old, who captured the nation's heart as well as that lightweight silver medal.
Promoters are ready with a king's ransom when he turns pro, while amateur bigwigs have come up with a £70,000-a-year deal for him to stay on board until the Beijing Olympics.
