Boxing: WARREN VOWS TO TAKE CALZAGHE UP A LEVEL

Joe Calzaghe has set his sights on the light-heavyweight scene after signing a new deal with Frank Warren.

The Pride of Wales has agreed to extend his contract with the Sports Network stable, following in the footsteps of Brixton heavyweight Danny Williams.

Calzaghe makes the 15th defence of his WBO super-middleweight title against Egypt's Kabary Salem on October 22, but is keen to make the long-awaited step up.

Following Roy Jones Jr's second stunning defeat at the hands of IBF champion Glen Johnson, Warren has confirmed that he will make an offer to the IBF light-heavyweight champ.
