not to far south of me their were several areas that were hit bad, houses leveled, power outages, etc, etc . I read earlier they are the most costly disaster in my states history. what a mess

I was listening about an entire town that was gone! Its a real tradgedy, but its also a testament to how powerful the weather can be. That was just a cold front moving across the country, not even a hurricane or an earthquake! We have very few tornados where I live, thankfully. I cant imagine what it must be like to lose friends or family members like that, or your home.

Not too far south of me there were also several areas that were hit bad. Last thursday I went of a school trip to Columbus and I got to see some of the damage firsthand when we drove through Tiffen Ohio. I feel lucky though, as one of the supercell storms missed my area my a mere 4 or 5 miles.
