universally reconised featherweight king Manny Pacquiao has expressed interest in assisting Filipino Diosdado "Prince" Gabi in his quest to regain the World Boxing Council flyweight crown, once occupied by Pacquiao.
Kidapawan-based Soc Pinol, in an interview yesterday, revealed that Pacquiao's local trainers, led by Restituto "Buboy" Fernandez, have already committed to assist Gabi in preparation for his October 8 challenge on WBC flyweight boss Pongsaklek Wongjongkam in Phuket, Thailand.
The southpaw Gabi, holder of the WBC International title, goes into the fight with an impressive, 21-2-1-(16), record. However, he will be up against a fighter who enjoys cult following in Thailand, and an impressive 52-2-(29) slate.
