Boxing: Davis edges out Buggs in Monterey

Promoter-matchmaker Jerry Hoffman, 12 Sports Productions, Miller Lite and the Hyatt Regency in Monterey, California presented the 15th consecutive sold out Riot at the Hyatt show on July 3.

The evening's main event featured a rematch of one of 2003's hotly contested bouts between Ryan Davis of East St. Louis, Illinois against local talent James "Dark Angel" Buggs of Oakland, California. Davis won that encounter by the closest of margins on all three scorecards. Also featured in the co-main event was local prospect Carina "La Reina" Moreno of Watsonville, California against replacement Deidre Yamaguchi of Harlem, New York in a six round Flyweight bout.
