Added to the already interesting card is the six round return of heavyweights Robert Hawkins (16-2) and Najee Shaheed (18-5-2). Hawkins and Shaheed both have been out of action with Hawkins returning from a 5 years layoff and Shaheed returning to the ring after a year. Southpaw Shaheed has fought McBride, Wladimir Klitschko, and Henry Akinwande.

Hawkins who was scheduled to fight James Walton originally, agreed to Shaheed as a replacement. Hawkins was riding a 13 bout win streak prior to his leaving the sport in 98. In that year Hawkins defeated a tough Boris Powell who was 25-1 for the fight.

Shaheed who normally weighs around 235 went seven rounds in his last fight to the “Clones Colossus” Kevin McBride who is planning to fight Tyson in July. After training for several years out of Brockton Ma. Najee is currently working and training in Florida. Refocused and with an entire new management team Shaheed has spent the year honing his skills and looks to get back on track.
