Former undisputed world heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman made short work of Rob Calloway at Michael's Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie, Maryland
Thursday night by knocking him out in the second round.
Rahman's trademark overhand right did the damage when he floored the overmatched Calloway for the count after 2.00.
Former heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman knocked out Rob Calloway in the second round Thursday night, enhancing his bid to regain the title he lost
nearly three years ago.
It was the third victory in a 99-day span for Rahman (38-5-1), the top-ranked contender in the World Boxing Association.
Rahman floored Calloway (44-5-1) with an overhand right, and the underdog didn't get off the canvas until several moments after the 10-count by
referee Malik Waleed.
The official time was two minutes of the second round.
Before his three-match winning streak, Rahman went 0-3-1 after winning the heavyweight title with a stunning knockout of Lennox Lewis in April
2001.
Rahman lost the rematch seven months later, then fell out of contention before his recent resurgence.
As i said before it helps to shake off the cobwebs. He need to take a step up in the quality of opponent to make people start to take notice of him. I
can see him taking a title in the near futire.
