Lightweight prospect Scott Lawton pic by Mr Will annexed his first professional title Thursday night, outpointing Carl Allen over 10 rounds to lift
the vacant Midlands Arena Title at the Octagon in Sheffield.
The Stoke-On-Trent born slickster boxed well for the first six rounds but re-injured the right elbow which had hindered his preparation. Perhaps sensing his opponent's increasing discomfort, Wolverhampton journeyman Allen surged forward and landed a huge right hand.
Lawton was rocked and needed to hold but, in only his 11th pro fight, exhibited good ringcraft to stave off his man until the end of the round.
